Each year, the Eastern Athletic Trainers’ Association scholarship program honors student members for their demonstrated excellence in academic and clinical work as an entry-level athletic training student. There are only 11 of these awards available, and we are proud to share that one of Daemen’s finest, Moriah Gregory has been selected for the Joseph Abraham Scholarship!
The competitive EATA application process encourages selected students to continue their education toward a professional training degree and career. Gregory is the first Daemen University AT student to receive this scholarship since its inception in 1984, and she is just the second Daemen student to receive one of these scholarships.
Gregory continues to demonstrate her devotion and hard work through the athletic training program here at Daemen and abroad. She has participated in medical mission work in the Dominican Republic and studied abroad in Ireland, helping communities and experiencing new cultures.
Gregory has also been selected for previous scholarships, including the Richard E. Vandervoort Memorial Scholarship from the National Association Research and Education Foundation (NATA). She is also on the Dean’s list, is a Daemen Trustee Scholar, and received the New York State Athletic Trainers’ Association Scholarship. She accomplished this all while maintaining her high achieving academics, as well as serving as vice president for Daemen’s Athletic Training Student Association.
As an expected master’s graduate in 2021, Gregory has made a statement here and beyond with her efforts. Please join us in congratulating her on this award and sending her well wishes for her bright career ahead.
