Daemen University athletic training alumna Audrey Yokopovich has taken her talents across the country. Yokopovich is with the Kansas City Chiefs football team working as a seasonal athletic training intern for one of the top NFL football teams this season. This is her second season with the NFL following last year’s clinical rotation with the Buffalo Bills. 

Yokopovich graduated from Daemen University’s athletic training master’s program in 2020. Through her opportunities within our program, she gained the knowledge on and off the field to prepare her career. By first working with the Buffalo Bills during a clinical rotation, Yokopovich said, “I learned what it takes to work at a high level. It’s a lot of work and long hours, but the education and connections I gained were crucial in getting me to where I am now.”

Taking part in this rotation prepared her to continue working within the NFL and pursue her position with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Audrey said, “I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime and learned from some of the greatest certified athletic trainers in Buffalo. Daemen University was the steppingstone I needed in order to achieve a few of my professional goals.” 

Before Yokopovich’s arrival to our master’s program, she did not have much background within the field, but was an athlete herself. Through the DCAT direct entry program, she grew her knowledge and passed her BOC exam. Without hesitation, Yokopovich feels comfortable to jump right into clinical settings. 

 As she continues her athletic training career through the NFL and beyond, we look forward to seeing where this takes her.
