Daemen ranks as a best graduate school for nursing
Daemen University has made the 2022 U.S. World News’ Best Graduate Schools Rankings in nursing. We offer multiple nursing graduate degrees, all accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). These include Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, M.S.; Nursing Executive Leadership, M.S.; and Nursing Education, M.S.
“It is a great honor to be recognized among the many nursing programs across the country,” said Dr. Cheryl Nosek, chair of Daemen University Nursing Department. “We are a user-friendly program, and our class schedule is designed to meet the needs of our students who are working and have family responsibilities. At the same time, we maintain the standards necessary to prepare highly qualified graduates ready to hit the ground running as they advance in their nursing careers.”
Rankings and assessment criteria
Overall, the rankings assessed hundreds of schools’ master’s programs in nursing education on their research activity, faculty resources, student excellence, and qualitative ratings from experts. It’s purpose is to help prospective students determine which programs will best serve their interests and help them achieve their goals.
How does the report determine what makes a best graduate school in nursing? The report’s rankings are based on two types of data. One, is expert opinions about program excellence. The other, is statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students.
What makes Daemen different
“Our faculty are credentialed both academically and experientially,” said Nosek. “Our class sizes are small to ensure that our students are engaged and recognized as people, not numbers. We assist students in finding clinical placements that meet their learning needs as well as their career goals.”
She added, “Our alumni report high levels of satisfaction with the program. While at Daemen, they engage in research and projects that promote evidence-based practice, and they report that the preparation they receive at Daemen prepares them well to work in their chosen nursing specialty.”
Daemen students also have access to the Daemen’s Center for Interprofessional Learning and Simulation (CILS). The center is located directly on campus, which provides students experiential learning opportunities to promote best practice and collaboration. This leads to improved health and well-being outcomes for individuals, organizations, and communities.
