Are you interested in the field of nursing – or switching to a school that better fits your needs and future?
Prospective students in nursing can register for Daemen University’s Nursing Open House – and those looking to transfer to Daemen can attend the Transfer Information Session, both to be held on campus at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 27.
Overall, these events will allow students to learn about Daemen’s admissions process, while visiting the university’s facilities and campus, and also meeting with faculty and current students.
Prospective nursing students will also learn about nursing scholarship opportunities, flexible course scheduling, night and evening classes, and part-time options.
Students considering transferring to Daemen can learn about how up to 90 credits can come with them to the university. Transferring also only requires applicants to submit a free online application and their transcripts.
“Our transfer admissions counselors will take care of the rest,” said Megan Beardi, director of graduate and transfer admissions at Daemen University.

“We hold events like this because we believe that students should have access to as much help, exposure to campus, and information as possible,” said Beardi. “We also provide a calculator for GPA so each student can know their standing for admission.”
“We understand finding the right fit for any program, especially when transferring schools, can be a big decision,” said Beardi. “Therefore, we are here to guide you along the way. At Daemen, our faculty and staff are devoted to seeing students succeed through our academic programs.”
Transferring Made Easy
New this year, the Transfer Information Session will also offer attendees a chance to speak with current transfer students to ask questions and gain additional insight into life at Daemen. In addition, attendees who enroll full-time while at the event will be eligible to receive an additional $2,000 scholarship.
“We wanted to offer another event option specifically for transfer students,” said Beardi. “Often, they come to events more related to first-year students. However, transfer students are different because they went through the first-year enrollment process already. Now, they want to be admitted into their school of choice and move forward.”
The event also provides transfer students an opportunity to go on a tour of campus and see the school first-hand.
“When a prospective student visits campus, it solidifies their decision of wanting to come to Daemen. It gives them a chance to see the classrooms and other spaces on campus so that they can picture themselves here as a student,” said Beardi.
She added, “Knowing that most of their credits will transfer in and how long it will take to complete their degree is extremely important to transfer students. We strive to make our transfer admissions process easy. Therefore, our transfer admissions team is with students every step of the way – from filling out their application to registering for classes.”
